ANTIQUE TAPESTRY FROM THE REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA
This tapestry was woven in Tbilisi Academy of Arts in the Republic of Georgia during the rain of Lenin. It was woven to show that Bolshevik revolution within which due to collective farming there is peace and harmony. In the traditional welcoming ceremony of Russians, the lady is offering bread with salt to a Cossack. In the background, grape vine is rising and the all the different groups' tents are on top with the sun is rising on the top middle of the vine holder.
This particular weaving was published in "Hali Magazine" in England in 1994, pp. 161.
